Like many ideas start out, there was a phone call between brothers at 2 in the morning on a freezing cold winter night in 2019. One of them ignored the other and put his phone on silent. Next morning, after learning that everything was okay (no one was in the hospital etc.) An idea was made.
Glenn and Clint Curtis have combined 35 years in the car business. They had seen all the ups and downs, and over the years had found one of the worst parts of the whole car buying experience is the initial awkward small talk when a customer goes to see a car at a dealership. The "sizing each other up," the handshakes with the lame jokes you know the salesman has said a thousand times, the fear, the uncertainty, and anxiety of the car buying experience are all cogs in a wheel that no one wants to drive on. Like an engine that just got an oil change, Glenn and Clint wanted to make the experience of buying a car as frictionless as possible. They felt that the process needed a "hard reset."
They understood that buying a car for most of us is the 2nd biggest purchase we make in our lifetime. We live in an age with limitless information at our fingertips. We are more educated on what type of car we want, what color it should be, what features it needs to have, and what it's selling for in our area more than any other time since Henry Ford rolled the Model T off the assembly line in 1908. We want freedom, time, and no more games and gimmicks. We want to try something before we pay for it. We want to drive it, smell it, listen to the engine, hear the speakers, open the sunroof, and play with the tech on our terms. We want to do it when and where we want, and we don't need a salesman looking over our shoulder pressuring us to think what he wants.
